And So God...
Hosea 12:6
"You must return to your God. Maintain love and justice, and always put your hope in God."
The dishonest deal maker gets by on his wits. The rich men find no fault in their actions, everything they have they earned on their own and owe no one any apology for it. And for some God must bring them to utter desperation and cripple a person to bring them to a place of justice and redemption. God wants to bless this one and make them governed by God, (Israel). God wants them to be in His hands and bless them forever.
God found his people and Israel struggled with him. In time they wept and found God's favor. God followed his people throughout the generations, and caused them to be repaid for their actions. This was a merit based relationship. God sent instructions through the prophets speaking to them in parables. The Lord brought Israel out from Egypt by a prophet. And later they forgot God. They begged The Lord for a king because they wanted a tangible victory in a person rather than trusting in their faith alone. Their priorities were out of control. Ephraim provoked God with his many idols and foreign partners in crime. God vowed to to repay him for his contempt, he vowed to remove their king, but not before pleading with them through the many prophets and his word.
"I knew you in the wilderness"
"you know no God but me,
and no Savior exists besides me."
And yet they became proud in their many God given blessings. When the Lord gave them the land of milk and honey and safe pasture, they became satisfied with themselves and proud in their hearts. They forgot the Lord and cast for themselves silver and gold images of idols. They burned incense prayers to these dead gods and goddesses, butchered sacrifices for them. They even offered their children as sacrifice.
And so God vowed that he will be like a bear and tear them apart, he'll hunt them like a leopard and devour them for they have adulterated themselves and prostituted their lives for false hope.
And yet God never forsakes his people completely. He always offers a way of escape, a redemption, an inheritance.
Hosea 13:14
"I will ransom them from the power of Sheol (the grave). I will redeem them from death. Death, where are your barbs? Sheol, where is your sting?"
The Lord makes the way of resurrection. Yes Ephraim’s guilt is preserved, but the people who love God, those who did not abandon their faith for the worship of false idols, they are given the gift of life everlasting.
The Lord promises to...
Heal their apostasy.
Freely love them.
Forget their sin.
Cover their unrighteousness under the shade and protection of his name.
And so God...is the only true hope and salvation. He saw you wonder off and all your fornications with false gods. And he calls you home to himself, your first love, your only true love. Though you abused his love and rejected his grace, he calls you home. Even when you mock him and his people, he calls you to himself. His forgiveness is deep and profound, he prays for your soul. And he weeps for your lack of faith. And from his grave he fought with death so that you will never face ultimate death.
"For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, in the same way, through Jesus, God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep."
(1 Thessalonians 4:14)
God so loved you, that he died for you so that you might be born again with him forever in paradise.
Food for thought:
I don't know yet if we live in a multiverse of galaxies and existences. And maybe the spirits and God (who is spirit) blow between the many verses. Maybe the dark matter of hell and light of God flows like rivers in competition for existence between the seams of this complex matter matrix. I believe this whole thing is by design in order to control the chaos, and it's all ultimately under the control of God Almighty. And so I put all my faith in His grace and power.
And I'm astounded by the idea that God steps out, in between the multiverses, in order to participate in our redemption. And to bring us home.
Thank you Lord.
Forgive me, sinner that I am.
Your kingdom come, your will be done.
