Jesus speaking about the future tribulation:
7"Nation will rise against nation, and nation against nation. There will be (epidemics) famines, and earthquakes in various places." 15“So when you see the abomination of desolation (the AntiChrist), spoken of by the prophet Daniel (Daniel 9:26), standing in the holy place” (let the reader understand), 16“then those in Judea must flee to the mountains.
Matthew 24:7,15-16
If we've learned anything over the past few years, we've seen that people will believe just about anything if it means their comfort isn't disturbed. We watched as the media and the leaders conjured up lies and the masses of the people joined in on the show. So sick was the deception that the people were proud of themselves for being led astry. And unfortunately many still believe they were doing the only right thing available to them at the time. And so we can learn something about ourselves in this. We can learn that we must not easily believe in ourselves, or in the same weaknesses of others. Fact of the matter is, easy believeism isn't just to do with matters of religion, it's seen in all facets of vain humanity. People will believe anything that agrees with whatever it is they wish for themselves. Everything is subjective, and faith for many is relative. It's strange these vain easy believers, they pray to protect themselves from the stress and fear of life in Christ. Even though Jesus said "blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness sake".
How many Christians do you know that are willing to stand firm and rejoicingly glad in their being persecuted?
Let me tell you this, if you are Christian and you want a relationship with Jesus that doesn't come with persecution, here's what you do:
Don't be a peacemaker.
Don't teach about being pure at heart.
Don't be merciful in Christ's name.
Don't thirst after righteousness.
Don't share Jesus with the world, not even meekly, not even with a contrite mournful spirit.
Keep Jesus to yourself and you'll be spared the persecution.
Oh! And you'll become a vain easy believer in just about any deception that comes along. You'll learn to easily accept the new realities and different Christs that come along. You'll be safe in the delusion.
And so Jesus Christ warns us to keep watch. Watch for the deception, but even more importantly keep watch on your faith and the words of Jesus that are its foundations.
A time is coming when the people are going to be led astry by false messiahs and prophets performing signs and wonders. The leaders of the popular churches will present these signs and wonders, and claim the Messiah will be present in their places and spaces. So powerful the deception they will deceive themselves and others, they'll even deceive many of those thought to be the most steadfast. You'll see these deceitful people before the coming tribulations and AntiChrist. The world will be filled with a revival of the false prophets.
Jesus warns the future people about a time when future deceivers will misled future Christians, and he cautions them to remain watchful. He means for these future Christians to remain in His words. To be watching for false teachings. Christ warns that there is no greater enemy to the true faith than vainly and simply following after foolish deeds and lies. The credulity of the believers is a symptom of the decline in Christian religions and their lack of understanding Jesus' words. Throughout the history of the church the Destroyer succeeds in deceiving the people by misusing the words of Jesus. And the believers are the reason this happens. It caused by their easy believeism. They are the weakest links in the religious community.
Jesus serves up a black pill for his followers. A stark contrast to what the popular church and media is doing. He does this because he wants his remnant to be spared the coming trials. He wants them to have the kingdom of God.
It's a tough pill to swallow, and many won't.
And Jesus says many will be led astray.
Many because it was easier to believe the easy believeism. It's easier to believe the lie.
