The Created Power Behind The Earthly Kingdoms And All Their Epic Failures
Wise words from Henry VIII
by William Shakespeare
Wolsey meditates on ambition and warns Cromwell:
"Cromwell, I charge thee, fling away ambition.
By that sin fell the angels; how can man then,
The image of his Maker, hope to win by it?
Love thyself last, cherish those hearts that hate thee;
Corruption wins not more than honesty.
Still in thy right hand carry gentle peace,
To silence envious tongues. Be just and fear not;
Let all the ends thou aim'st at be thy country's,
Thy God's, and truth's."
He was perfect, immortal, beautiful, proud, powerful, ambitious, and created, not a god at all. His name was Lucifer and he was God's cherub.
Ezekiel 28:15
“You were blameless in all you did from the day you were created until the day evil was found in you."
Turns out this blameless angel had a heart that was filled with pride. Because he was so beautiful and he foolishly loved himself for all his wisdom, he became corrupted by his narcissism. He loved things and all the splendorous stuff of the world. And because he had ambitions for these things God threw him down to the earth. And you might imagine that Satan would be pleased by this to some degree. After-all he could now reign supreme on the earth and gather to himself all the things that he loved. But it turns out that all his ambitions and corruptions defiled his courts and sanctuaries. He became the depiction of pure evil. Throughout all the millennia he became known among men as the father of deception and demonic acts of evil.
He failed in his ambitions. For all the worlds wealth, power, and prestige, that he controlled, Lucifer failed. All who know him are appalled at his fate. And the world of men wait on the day of his end in the final judgment. Epic fail.
Satan failed to devour the infant Christ (Revelation 12:1-6).
He could not conquer heaven and lost the battle there (Revelation 12:7-11).
He failed in that his time was too short, military genius he was not (Revelation 12:12).
He failed to kill the splendid woman (representing God’s grace) (Revelation 12:13-17).
He fails as “Babylon” falls, all the glorious things of wealth and commerce that he loved above all else were destroyed (Revelation 18:1-2,21).
He fails to escape his binding, not a god at all, just a created being who God has complete control over (Revelation 20:1-3).
He fails to escape his doom, pitiful and pathetic he fails epically (Revelation 20:7-10).
Friends,
Tribulation is to be expected in this world and "through much tribulation we must enter the kingdom of God" (Acts 14:22).
But Satan can not destroy your soul if you follow Wolsley's advice..."Love thyself last", Satan loved himself above all else. Live instead for the ambitions of "carrying gentle peace...being just...and fearing not"
Keep truth first and foremost, unlike Satan who fathered all lies.
Obey the ways of God, not men.
God bless you and keep you always.
