What should we say then?
Should we continue in sin so that grace may multiply?
Absolutely not!
How can we who died to sin still live in it?
Romans 6:1-2
The Lord has laid a snare for the people who are dead in their sins. And for those who look to the Messiah for redemption. He offers grace and promises his protection and rest for the people who believe and trust in his Son Jesus. And that covering of sins is forever in his Son Jesus. God promises he'll never remember their sins. That promise is a covenant promise. And because of that promise, because of the character of God, God calls man to respond to Him in faith and obedience. Obedience to holiness. The snare is set, the choice is made. There is the way of the righteous and the way of the unrighteous.
The council of the Lord in the New Testament:
Before Jesus’ crucifixion, He summarized His ministry by saying to the disciples that remained faithful to Him, “This is the blood of the covenant” (Matt. 26:28). This demonstration was the fulfillment of the Old Testament prophecy that God would make a new covenant. Jesus spoke about the shedding of His blood as the way in which the new covenant would be made true, real, and present. And that pouring out of his blood covered the sins of those who believe and obey his commands. His righteousness covering their sin. When we come to trust in Jesus, we know Jesus as our covenant Lord and Savior. We are called, therefore, to respond to Him in faith and obedience.
It's trap it's true. The trap is set to take captive the human condition and set free the people who are slaves to their sin.
