Look up child.
Unless the divine power has raised you up, you will be overcome by the unending devilish schemes and demonic influences that come at you daily. Unless God goes before you, how will you not fall prey to the onslaughts of the evil one?
Matthew 6:33
"Seek above all else the Kingdom of God and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need."
The things of God must be your priority. If we are taking care of God’s business as a priority—seeking His salvation, living in obedience to Him, and sharing the good news of the kingdom with others—then He will take care of our business as He promised. Where your hope is your treasure will be. Our attitude about the material things will dictate our rewards. Divided allegiances between the Holy One and the whole world will mostly lead us into self-deception and failure. Money dooms us to a life of worry, worry that stems from little faith (Matthew 6:30).
I think it's safe to say that Jesus was really hyper-focused upon sin, and surprisingly for many I'm sure he was not primarily interested in the sins of the flesh, but more often he spoke about the sins of fear, distraction, distrust, anxiety, and worry. Jesus commanded us ALL, to take no thought about the things of this world. Not just some of you, you weak ones who can't manage money. Jesus commanded us ALL! Don't get to thinking that you've got a special blessing that enables you to manage the money and worry sins better than others. Jesus tells us all to take no thought about your life or your body. Jesus cautions us to beware the hypocrisy, and the vain traps, the tormenting thoughts of a hurried worried life.
"It is in vain that you rise up early and go late to rest, eating the bread of anxious toil..."Psalm 127:2
Is There a Danger of Being Too Heavenly-Minded?
Sure there is. Too much of any good thing can become a problem when what we make of it becomes polluted by our sinful natures. As we go about our faith-led days living the abundant life, and we are empowered by the Holy Spirit, we become living conduits of God's blessing. We become ambassadors of Christ Jesus for the transformation in the earth. Every relationship, every business deal, every worldly interaction becomes an intersection point for the Holy Spirit to use us as the instruments of His light. And so consequently our attitude about these relationships can develop them into a blessing or a curse. The lord came to make everyone aware that His kingdom is coming and is likewise here now living and active within us today. Our attitude today about the kingdom to come will develop our faith today, here and now, and have eternal relevance. So, the simple answer is one cannot be "too heavenly minded", they can however have a misplaced faith.
So, you may ask, "Mike? How will I know if my faith is misplaced?" My question for you is this, are you "seeking first?"
Faith can only be proven by our actions. Not like believing in a law of physics, not like knowing what goes up must come down, but by having faith that what's coming is what we know and desire. Knowing that in this future outcome, which we put our faith in, we will trust that no failure is coming because we trust in the God who has promised us to be with us in all things. Faith is a concrete conviction, it's an attitude based upon fact, it's not ambiguous. Faith is the substance of things hoped for. If you want to grow your faith, pray that God sends you problems. Problems teach us to lean on The Lord. Problems help us to reach out in faith.
"But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you" (Matthew 6:33).
It's not that we're called to "think only", we are taught instead to "seek first". You might look at "think only" in this way, it's a religion, a doctrinal, ritualistic relationship with the Lord. Our relationship with the kingdom to come should not be about fearing that the Lord might be hating on our expressions of faith, our relationship should be about ensuring that we are not following the Devil into his eternal fate. We must hallow a faith in Christ Jesus that will help us to resist the temptations of the evil one.
Time after time Jesus warns us about the sins of fear, anxiety, and worry. And the only fear Jesus promotes is The Fear of The Lord.
"Don’t be afraid of those who want to kill your body; they cannot touch your soul. Fear only God, who can destroy both soul and body in hell." - Matthew 10:28
Jesus is saying, take care. Take care of business. And your ultimate business must be to keep your mind stayed upon him. Jesus is saying if you want all things made new in your life, if you want no more pain, no more impurity, seek him first. Above all else seek him. He promises it will be well with your soul. And he gave his life so that you will have life, both body and soul in him. And all he wants you to do is fear only the Lord. Not fear of his punishment, but a reverential awesome love for God and his kingdom.
Take a step of faith, not in fear. This is the attitude of faith...
"Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you" (1 Peter 5:6-7)
Faith is built NOT upon your will power or virtues, but on the power of almighty God. If your anxious about your faith, your god is too small. Faith isn't about the size of YOUR faith. Faith is about the object of your faith. It's about the God of your faith. And faith comes by hearing from that God. That's the relationship side of faith.
FEAR NOT - Strengthen What Is Lacking In Your Faith, Grow Your Faith. It Comes By Hearing The Word Of God.
"Fear not, for I am with you" (Isaiah 41:10)

"There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love." (1 John 4:18)
"Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.” (Deuteronomy 31:6)
"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." (Philippians 4:6-7)
"Say to those who have an anxious heart, “Be strong; fear not! Behold, your God will come with vengeance, with the recompense of God. He will come and save you.” (Isaiah 35:4)
"The fear of man lays a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord is safe." (Proverbs 29:25)

Jesus said - "“Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble." (Matthew 6:34)
Seek what is above...seek him in his word.
