“Can you hear me now?”
“But certainly, God has heard me; He has attended to the voice of my prayer.”
– Psalm 66:19
Are you unsure about how God is using you? Are you anxious about the future and your role in Christ’s kingdom? Have you been afraid to share your faith? Are you praying and giving praise and still uncertain as to whether God is hearing you? Have the way things have been going in the world been wearing you down? Are you feeling a little lost on your faith walk?
Friends,
The wrong word at the wrong time can destroy you, but the right words can build you up. The words coming out of your heart are the words that will sustain you or break you down. In this world we’re set upon daily by the acolytes of evil, who frankly do a great job of messaging. And they’ve got it down…programmed and advertised everywhere. Their networking skills are great. They utilize everything and every opportunity to get their message out. They’ve got crowds, they’ve got screens, they’ve got apps, they’ve got fanatics, they’ve got games and programs and multitudes of attendance. They must use these things, because they haven’t got one thing. They haven't got a network with Jesus. And they can only pervert God's word, because the truth is not in them. And they can’t pray in Christ Jesus’ name. That gift is only given to us, to those who love God and have put their faith in Christ Jesus. When I’m anxious I nourish my soul in the word of God. I feed my soul good food, I feed my prayers in His word. I give voice to my prayers by praying His word.
Proverbs 25:11 “A word spoken at the right time is like gold apples in silver settings.”
So, let’s take some time to hear the word that will help settle our souls and rebuild our assurance, so that when the world is breaking us down, we can find peace and hope to go on in our prayers and continue to run the reality of our faith. Let’s pray through the scriptures so that we can know that Christ has anointed our faith and is living in us. Let’s avoid fear and anxiety about the many worldly pressures we all face as we follow the path of understanding God’s will and treasure his presence in his word. Pray through the word because God loves to hear his word spoken by you, even if it’s between you and him only. You want to be heard by God? Speak His word in prayer.
Can you hear me now God?
John 10:27 in the Bible says, "My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me". This verse can be used to interpret the phrase "Can you hear me now?" as God asking people to respond to him by how they live. God's response to this is in Revelation 3:20, in which He says, "'Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me"
Father, I will come and join the network that covers more people… more often… in more places!
(Read in your bible Acts 17:26, Ephesians 2:19)
"...in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit."
Father, I will come because your power is great, and we can share in it!
2 Peter 1:3 “For as you know him better, he will give you, through his great power, everything you need for living a truly good life: he even shares his own glory and his own goodness with us!”
I will come see the One who everyone is singing the praises of!
Psalm 66:4 “All the earth worships you and sings praises to you; they sing praises to your name.” Selah
I will check out the amazing things He is doing for all the people!
Acts 4:13-14 “Now when the men of the Sanhedrin (Jewish High Court) saw the confidence and boldness of Peter and John, and grasped the fact that they were uneducated and untrained [ordinary] men, they were astounded, and began to recognize that they had been with Jesus. And seeing the man who had been healed standing there with them, they had nothing to say in reply.”
These religious and political leaders were amazed by the witness of these disciples of Christ. They were amazed because they’ve lived their entire lives relying upon their own education and status to reflect their authority. And yet here standing before them are men who haven’t been to seminary. They haven’t been disciples to the officially recognized rabbis. But these authorities recognized Jesus in these men. They knew these men have been with Jesus, and that left them speechless.
Father, I come and join the network that rules with power…that has its eye on all the nations!
Galatians 3:28 “There is no longer Jew or Greek, there is no longer slave or free, there is no longer male and female; for all of you are one in Christ Jesus.”
I will join with people everywhere who are singing the praises of the good things He has provided.
Psalm 150: “Praise the Lord, Praise God in his sanctuary. Praise him in his mighty heavens. Praise him for his acts of power. Praise him for his surpassing greatness. Praise him for the sounding of the trumpet. Praise him with the harp and lyre. Praise him with tambourine and dancing. Praise him with the strings and flute. Praise him with the clash of cymbals. Praise him with resounding cymbals. Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the Lord.”
I can see that His network is tested…purified to take on whatever heavy loads you may have.
Hebrews 12:1 “Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses [who by faith have testified to the truth of God’s absolute faithfulness], stripping off every unnecessary weight and the sin which so easily and cleverly entangles us, let us run with endurance and active persistence the race that is set before us”
I will come and listen to the stories of those who have come to rely upon Him.
Romans 10:14 “But how will people call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how will they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how will they hear without a preacher (messenger)?” (vs. 17) “Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ.”
I have reached out to Him and He has heard them and did not hold back His attention.
Psalm 55:16 “But I call to God, and the Lord will save me. I complain and groan morning, noon, and night, and he hears my voice.
Father, I will come and see the new picture that has been made new!!! No longer unclear, we have a new system that has ended the first system.
2 Corinthians 5:17 “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!”
Lord, I understand that all this has been made possible through the generous sacrifice of Christ and has been made available in His body once and for all time.
Hebrews 10:10 “And by that will, we have been made holy through the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.”
So, I will not wait!
Proverbs 27:1 “Do not boast about tomorrow, for you do not know what a day may bring forth.”
Do what you need to do today. Don't wait to pray and receive Jesus. Don't put off doing the will of God. Don't wait to tell someone you love them in Christ.
I will come and see…I will feel sure and not doubt…I’ll receive Mercy and Grace when I need it.
Hebrews 4:16 “Let us, then, feel very sure that we can come before God's throne where there is grace. There we can receive mercy and grace to help us when we need it.”
Father, I believe there is no fear in loving you. I know where there is Jesus, love is made perfect!
1 John 4:18 “There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.”
Father, you’ve heard my prayer and I know now that those who live in Your love are living in You, and it is FREE! Free from fear.
1 John 4:7 "And as we live in God, our love grows more perfect. So, we will not be afraid on the day of judgment, but we can face him with confidence because we live like Jesus here in this world."
Amen and amen.
