There's No Escaping The Fates?
Daniel 11:32b
"but the people who know their God will be strong and take action."
Will they?
And then the tribulations.
Daniel 11:36
“Then the king will do whatever he wants. He will exalt and magnify himself above every god, and he will say outrageous things against the God of gods. He will be successful until the time of wrath is completed, because what has been decreed will be accomplished."
He's going to set up himself for worship, and the worship as a god of fortresses, hoarding gold and silver and gemstones and wealth. His idol is the god of the Military Industrial Complex, the god of the fortresses of munitions, aka the god of forces, Jupiter Olympius, known among the Phoenicians by the name of Baal-Semen. He will take the lands of the people and give them to those who "acknowledge him". His reward will be the conquest of lands, mainly African nations.
He'll gather the forces of Europe and North America to his cause, and together they'll meet the forces of Asia (Russia and China) in Megiddo, located at the crossroads of the Jezreel Valley. They come up against each other for the final bloodbath, for the fury of the gods to finally be unleashed and played out upon one another, Armageddon, the battle of the end of days.
This cross roads of the ancients is destined, fated for this battle. It has long been known as the place where warring conquests have met to do battle for control of the trades. Cities upon cities have been born and died there. One on top of another. Blood has been spilled throughout the ages there, and for the same reasons. Always the gods of commerce, the military industrial complex. The gods of forces.
In the U.S., our government administrations have warmly embraced the industry gods of forces. This recent President, Joe Biden, has referred to that industry as the “arsenal of democracy”. Our American government worships this god of forces. It makes the vast majority of its offerings to that market, lining the pockets of arms contractors and the too big to fail bureaucracy that is founded upon to proliferate development and distribution of those arms sales. Millions of Americans are financially dependent upon that market. You could say that everything the U.S. is about has to do with maintaining and mainstreaming that business. Our government is skyrocketing. The Pentagon budget will easily hit $1 trillion or more in the next few years. All Americans are beholden to it. It is our fate. It cannot be escaped. Wars raise profits. The American people earn greater wealth. Defense budgets are bulging. Ultimately, the US defence contractors are set for a bonanza. The local economies for many American citizens is highly dependent on defence contractors for their economic wellbeing. And that doesn't necessarily create greed, but mainly fear. Fear of losing their jobs or financial security. And so they're willing to compromise their values if it promises to protect their interests. They are fated to compromise by fear.
Former US president Dwight Eisenhower warned of the rise of the military industrial complex and its threat to democracy in his 1961 farewell address. The same year I was born, our nation was warned that this statecraft warfare marketplace was a "huge problem". I wonder now some 63 years later, if Present Eisenhower could have imagined what was to ultimately come. If only our government "servants" had listened and taken care to resist the fates.
"In the councils of government, we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the military-industrial complex. The potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists and will persist."
The idea then was that this military buildup was intended to protect democracy. In the end it becomes more and more about affluent Americans wielding power, prestige, and wealth. It's no longer about the betterment of the American people and protecting the progress of a noble people, but rather it's about an unbalanced society that worships the gods of forces and thirsts for the power those gods can bring.
And so they perpetuate crisis at many crossroads throughout the world. And so there is this ongoing temptation to create in the hearts of the nation a feeling that some spectacular and costly action must be funded in order to achieve this nobel dream. They infect all aspects of our culture with unrealistic programs trying to cure every ill in agriculture, healthcare, education, and warcraft. They dramatically expand their capabilities in the law and in political campaigns. So infectious are they that there is no longer any balance between public and private business. All aspects of our culture are infected by the military industrial complex.
Eisenhower said:
"We must never let the weight of this combination (unwarranted influence from corporate interests and the ruling government)
endanger our liberties or democratic processes. We should take nothing for granted. Only an alert and knowledgeable citizenry can compel the proper meshing of the huge industrial and military machinery of defense with our peaceful methods and goals, so that security and liberty may prosper together."
He warned us. In that age the U.S. government changed. He helped to change it. And it became a business. Our culture became ruled by it. And we did not heed his warning. And now our people worship at the altar of the god of forces. And we work for money so that forces at Megiddo will be well armed.
Pray to our God in heaven for all those who hypocritically serve the god of forces. And pray they will discover the truth before they forever sell their souls.
