So many people today are fabricating an identity in their minds and on their bodies. Looking to make their own will the law of nature and the will of God. And the problem is we're not always fully equipped to see things as they really are. In fact it's likely we'll get it wrong somehow.
Dear friends, We [who find their identity in Christ] are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know [we have faith] that when Christ appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is. [1 John 3:2]
We are being renovated dear friends, sanctified. We fill our minds with the Holy Spirit renewal of our minds [Titus 3:5]. It cannot be put on like a tattoo or outward adornment. Not like clothing or vain words. It is a daily process of renewal, a reprogramming of the mind. We are being shepherded into God's pasture, into his will, but we must choose to graze their. You can come into the Godly shelter, but you'll die their if you don't fill yourself in his will.
Change your mind. Repent. Say this to yourself, "He must increase, but I must decrease.” [John 3:30]
The reality is, “Disciples are not above their teacher, when everyone is fully trained they will be like their teacher.” [Luke 6:40]
That's your identity if you are in Christ.
