LORD HAVE MERCY ON ME – A Savior is Born
THE GOD OF LOVE - LOVE LIFT YOU UP WHERE YOU BELONG
Week Six:
LORD HAVE MERCY ON ME – A Savior is Born
The thought of my suffering and homelessness is bitter beyond words. 20 I will never forget this awful time, as I grieve over my loss. 21 Yet I still dare to hope when I remember this: 22 The faithful love of the LORD never ends! His mercies never cease. 23 Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each morning. (Lamentations 3:19-23)
God’s love and mercy keeps us from destruction. There, I said it. I believe it, the bible tells me so and that’s that as far as I’m concerned.
Now. How about all those times when my circumstances were destructing all around me? Well, let me tell you. The best place to be in all the world, especially when all hell is breaking loose, is at the feet of Jesus. A lot of people go looking for love in all the wrong places, I choose to sit, kneel, fall at the feet of our Lord and God Jesus when the crap hits the fan.
Don’t be surprised that you’re not in a relationship with Christ Jesus when you don’t spend time at his feet. The true character of God’s children is best revealed through their patient waiting upon the Lord. Troubles don’t cause them to fear because they know these troubles produce patience (Romans 5:3). They know this because they are faithful to remember, “The faithful love of the LORD never ends!” The know how much they’ve been forgiven. They know how much it cost and the price Christ paid for them. And their love is great, for they are forgiven of much. These devoted children, who love the Lord their God, do not fear. At the cross at the cross at the feet of the cross they will wait upon the Lord. They have nothing to fear for the whole core of their spiritual strength pivots around the cross. Even when all seems to be lost, the Lord appears to the faithful ones. When everyone has despaired and has left to scene, The Lord comes and anoints. The Lord comes and commissions. The Lord comes and instructs. The Lord comes and comforts. The Lord comes and forgives. And ultimately the Lord will come and bring them home. EVERY new morning the Lord’s mercy is made new.
His mercies begin afresh each morning.
Faith (the Church) should be like Moses’ burning bush, on fire but not consumed by it. Persecuted but not forsaken. Messy but not wallowing in the mire. At times cast down, but not destroyed. For those who love God, God’s compassions do not fail; not even when in anger does he shut up his tender mercies. His rivers of mercy run fully, deep, and constantly. He never runs dry for those who love Him. When human compassion fails, God does not. When reason and logic fail, God instructs and inspires. When the authorities are corrupted, when liberty is lost, and they reject the Kingdom to come, God anoints a newborn king, born to a virgin, and through Him he saves the whole world. And this king belongs to the world as the world belongs to him. And God announces that king he sent with angelic pronouncements of “fear not”, and the world will come to him laying their gifts and offerings at his feet. And he will love them and save them from their sins. The weary world will rejoice at his birth. Joy still comes even when the world is at war and forever in strife. His coming changes the world and changes people. He brings peace for a day and every new day his mercy is refreshed.
Through the coming Lord there is now established no better time than NOW to give your life to Jesus Christ. Don’t waste the opportunity on waiting for a more opportune time. Do it now. Come follow Him now. Choose life in Christ now. Refresh your faith now. Renew your commission now. Restore your faith now. Pray now. Receive his healing now. Taste his goodness. Get up and walk with him now. See him now. Hear him now. Become one with him now. Love him now. And know him now and forever.
Extra Credit: You don’t have to be afraid.
Did you know that though it varies depending upon the version of the bible, the phrase “fear not” appears there at least 365 times. That’s one blessing for every day of the year. God has anointed the book with these words to strengthen you and unleash favor and potential in you. God sows seeds of faith in this way. Where others search the scriptures to malign God and his faithful people, you should seek out these words every day and receive his new day blessings. When others see an angry authority figure, the children of God fear not for they know God is good and he loves them. The children of the most-high God read his blessings and speak prayers of victory over their lives. And they are made free, in Christ Jesus.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, how we praise and thank You that you are a gracious, loving, and long-suffering God. Help us to no longer be influenced by the circumstances of our lives, but rather help us to keep the eyes of our heart on You, knowing that Your plans and purposes are perfect. Thank You, Father, for Your steadfast love toward all Your children which is new every morning. All glory to Your holy name, in Christ Jesus, AMEN
