KNOW WHAT YOU KNOW WHAT YOU KNOW
"See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the elemental spiritual forces of this world rather than on Christ." - Colossians 2
Be convinced of the truth. Do not seek the compromised path. Always teach the cross and Christ crucified.
An example of the destructive power of fakenews, false teachers, misinformation, and taking the easy path:
Not even two miles south of Jervis Bay Australia, and fairly close to Jervis Bay Village, there once stood a lighthouse. Initially it was constructed in 1860, and it was built miles away from the proper place it was meant to illuminate. It was discovered that the contractor built the lighthouse two and a half miles north of where the lighthouse was supposed to have been. It was built there because it was easier to access the stone quarry nearby. From 1864 to 1893, this lighthouse was responsible for 23 shipwrecks. This lighthouse stood for three decades before it was leveled to the ground. The history of that lighthouse is one of lives lost, tragedies, and ultimately ruin, and that ruin now stands as a lesson for all about the light we share.
Friends,
You are the light of the world. Light and salt. Like the moon you reflect the sun's light. And like the moon you are a lifeless cold hulk without the sun. You are to be a lighthouse of truth, significantly placed to save many from destruction.
“So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live in him” (v.6)
False teaching poses a dangerous threat to the church. Therefore teach the unadulterated word of God. Be sure to teach truth and the fear of the Lord. Resist the easy bypath.
It is said that a shallow pot boils quickly. By spreading the truth of your faith across a broad way of understanding you are exposing it to greater misunderstanding.
Shallow faith, shallow compassion, and shallow service will bury the ships rudder into sandbars and rocky reefs of trouble. And that will keep you from reaching you destination.
Be sure to build up your light where God told you to build it. As the old saying goes:
The Bible said it.
I believe it.
That settles it.
